There used to be a trash burning power plant near here. Smelled awful. One of those projects that was all promises and hype. Always lost money and kept breaking down (exploding garbage tends to do bad things). It was finally converted to a regular coal plant.
It was also next to a rendering plant. You could smell it 10 or 15 miles away. Usually the wind blew the other way at least.
