Don’t they have air conditioning?

A lot of the city schools are old buildings without A/C. Not worth the cost to add it now for the couple of weeks a year when it might be needed.

It wasn't as much of an issue when schools started later in the year.

I wouldn’t hire anyone whose parent was involved at all unless they were maybe 16 and it was their first job.

Pawn shop in the town I delivered would rent window a/c units by the week

In one summer he’d pay for the units clean them up and fix whatever was broke over the winter Do it again the next summer

After they’d paid for it about 4 times he’d tell them it was theirs
