That was in the news a couple of days ago. Sounded like a couple of people in charge were trying to push an agenda (but denied it). Its a still mostly conservative area where the community complained about it. The drag queen tried to claim it was about theater and not about sexuality and dressing up.

Of course the way the Yahoo story slanted it was to make the drag queen the victim.

And the "predatory" accusations never mentioned any violence. Just complaining about it at a town meeting. And supposed death threats without proof.

I didn't pay much attention to the story anyway. Sounded like it was just a handful of people involved that got blown out of proportion.

They used to be good for news but really gone downhill in the past few years. Marissa Mayer took over and pretty much destroyed it. Plus HuffPro/Verizon own Yahoo now.
