I remember talking to Dave Henderson in Boston during the 100 year anniversary. He flat said that teams like the Pirates and Padres enjoy their revenue share and really don't care.

Have friends who for many years had a party on the Sat. before Halloween. Part of the deal was everyone had to bring an old couch, lazy boy or dresser or some kind of furniture to put on the bon-fire during the night. Some of that stuff makes flames a hundred feet high.

Trust me i am a fan of one of them. As long as 3 million people keep filling the seats every year they’ll do just enough to stay competitive and that’s it.

The Padres seem to be making an effort.
