I’m sure there must’ve been a waiting list.When my church opened its daycare we were only charging about $150. Way less than most other places. We weren't looking to make a profit though.

We were full up. Most were welfare (a lot of them single parents) that wouldn't have been able to work otherwise. The state paid the daycare costs (a bit less than the nominal full price) but we took that as full payment.I’m sure there must’ve been a waiting list.

I always advised people to put their kids on a chain in the back yard with a fresh pail of water. I would get some strange looks--especially from the women.Wish I had family that could baby sit lol
