I've seen fights over this. Some parents think their kids deserve a day off. Others like the idea of a fixed schedule.

If I were in the teachers union, I would go with the steady schedule.

A friend of mine owns some River bottom ground that for years they farmed corn and beans on it
A couple years ago they switched it all to sod some zoysia and several varieties of fescue more money less work
