We usually owe or barely break even.I got $41 back federal.
At least I didn't owe. Only took 2 weeks to get the refund check.

Back when corn was $8 a bushel many farmers were smart and paid stuff off or even paid cash for more land.Mostly if its a family farm and they already owned the land. Otherwise they probably can't compete with the big farms.
