I honestly have no idea how someone with large muscular thighs would wear our shorts.

The sizes are more a suggestion than having a basis in reality. Made for skinny Chinese guys. With cheap material that will probably only last a dozen washes it it doesn't rip before then.
Bend at the knees like you are supposed to and its almost certain to tear the crotch.
