Operational needs

I haven't bought brand spanking new in years. Lately I have to admit though, I have been seriously eyeing a 2020 Tahoe and a 2020 Ram. With all the packages and features, the cost is upwards of $60+K for either one. While I was shopping around, I found this 2016 KIA Sorento with very low mileage that I knew mama would like.

The owner was an old guy who towed it behind his RV and drove it around town when he snowbirded in Arizona. 19,000 miles and every service record ever completed. He wanted $13500 I handed him 120 hundred dollar bills and drove it away. She wanted a new Hyundai Tucson or Sante Fe, she got a Sorento with no payments...

Now, buying one of the newer vehicles does not seem so painful.
Is she happy with it? That’s a nice looking SUV.

I have never bought a car while on route but I pick up this sweet patio set from Martha Stewart Living that one of my customers has put out by the road. It retails for $250 and was practically brand new. It was a pain to work around until I got close to my condo to drop off.

Yeah, it's nice little rig. I driven it a few times and it has some pep. Comfortable ride, Scoob likes it, easier to get in and out of than the HOE.

The only thing I don't like is the red color for the radio and instruments. I am having a harder time seeing without readers and those colors don't play well when you can't see S*.

If Kia quality has improved like Hyundai quality, you'll be very happy with it.

Every vehicle I've purchased since 1985 has been new. Probably at least a dozen of them. Yes I know they are the worst investment possible but there is something to be said about driving stuff that's fully covered -bumper to bumper. I can afford it so why not. If I don't spend it- the family will -after I'm gone and I'd much rather see me in a new pickup than them. They can have my left overs.

There are definite drawbacks. I used to be able to drown an anthill from the top step of my truck now I have to step down to the first step to even moisten the dirt.

That commercial where the couple forgets their readers at a restaurant and the server brings big menus....that was us one night at Olive Garden. The lighting was dim and neither had readers and they took the pictures away from the menus. I had to use my phone to take a picture of the menu and then pinch out to see what I wanted.

Actually, KIA is part of Hyundai. Like Honda and Acura. It seems to be a quality made ride. The interior plastic is still a little hard but whatever, if I wanted the plastic to feel like a freshly tanned ass, I would have bought a luxury car.

Cosmo is right in that when both Hyundai and Kia first started selling here in the states the quality was sub par at best. Both have really stepped up their games. I test drove the Optima before deciding to lease another Altima.

Oh, I know that.

The dealer group I drive for has a Hyundai store, but no Kia stores.

I actually like the newer Hyundais. Very solid cars.
