OK. Are there any issues in MN, or is it the Land of Oz? One thing that protects you from the homeless is those toasty winters.
We have our share of problems in Mn. (95% of it in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area). They also have a homeless problem in that area. Can you imagine just how stupid a person would have to be to be "homeless in the winter in Mn.? Come Sept I would be making my way south if that as me. :-) The Twin Cities is over ran with Somalias. The goody two shoes church people brought them all here then basically left them to fend for themselves. A GOOD % of them live off Minnesota's lenient welfare system. Once you get about 75 miles north of Mpls. its god's country. Also we are unfortunately a Democrat State which means we have been known to have some mentally challenged politicians.

OK. So you have issues too. I’m actually visiting San Francisco right now. Parts are a hole, there are lots of homeless in certain areas, but most of it is very nice. Lots of fancy cars, expensive homes, Waymo driverless cars. In other words, if you have $$$ it’s pretty posh.
If you recall, California had a famous Republican governor who didn’t do a great job. Change to a Republican state government probably wouldn’t change the state substantially. California, by itself, is one of the world’s largest economies. They must be doing something right.

If it is so great why are normal people leaving the state by the thousands to settle in places like Texas ?

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
It’s on 303 near the 17, N phoenix. It’s the biggest construction project in America right now. 1100 acres
Gotcha, saw that too, but was wondering what the southern project is. Saw nine cranes there at one point. Wtf takes nine :censored2:ing cranes???

I knew that project @ 303/17 was huge, didn't realize that was the semiconductor plant though. That actually didn't cross my mind for either spot.

Housing is way cheaper in Texas and it has a strong economy and much lower cost of living. CA has a state income tax, and some cities also impose their own additional tax. Some people are leaving due to the politics as well. If you have money, CA can be a very pleasant place to live. If not, SF and LA average areas are very crowded, the traffic is terrible, and the non-monied areas can be downright dangerous. Think Oakland in NorCal and Compton/South LA in SoCal. Stockton, Modesto, and a few other cities are pretty terrible up north, and down south there are too many to list here.
Rural CA is very Red, and you don't have to go very far out of the Blue areas to hit Trumpland. Unfortunately, the State of Jefferson and the rest of the Right Wing areas would blow away and die if not for the wealth generated in the Bay Area and SoCal. In other words, as much as Righties in CA complain, they're heavily subsidized by the Blue parts of the state.
Even Michael Savage stays in his upscale community despite railing against CA polotics for his entire career. Same with plenty of other Far right types who don't walk their talk.
SF is largely a very regular city with a higher than average number of unique individuals and members of the LGBTQ community. It is never in your face unless you go to The Castro or somewhere else gay-dominated. FOX News type stories are mostly crap about SF. Most people are just like people everywhere else in the US.

Texas offers large tax breaks and subsidies for businesses to locate or re-locate there. The Far Right hero Musk happily accepted massive perks but continues to manufacture cars at the old NUMMI plant in CA, which had also given Tesla massive breaks and perks. Elon talks out of both sides of his South African mouth.
