Concealed carry

This is the biggest lie you've told yet. There is no way you carried a gun on a ups feeder and still had a job.

I know of several now retired old timer PC drivers who carried on rural routes. They were all pretty crazy and one ran over not 1 but 3 dogs on 3 separate occasions on purpose. Got his job back all 3 times too.

Not sure if they need law enforcement if it is their own property. If the suspect an employee has stolen property from them, so you think law enforcement is called before or after they search said vehicle?

Yes and they still need a warrant. That is like saying they can search your butt just because you are on their property.

Bad advice. It's not allowed on ups property. This means the parking my lot. If you don't believe me tell your manager you keep one in your car and you will be terminated.
Texas state law says you can have one in your car. Regardless of if it is on UPS property or not. You don't even need a permit. You can lawfully carry a gun on your property, this being on your homesite, to your car, in your car, and back to your home.

I know we are not allowed to have concealed weapons on company property, but a coworker from a different terminal had brought up a good point. At the gates before you enter most terminals it reads "no illegal firearms beyond this point". And at most terminals before you enter the building it reads " no firearms beyond this point". Well, we haul firearms and ammo so I think that's why it says "no illegal firearms". Well, my firearm is not illegal. It is registered and i possess a license to carry it. I know we aren't allowed to carry in federal buildings and that also includes federal vehicle.I just don't think it's fair to not be able to protect ourselves, especially when we haul firearms and raw drugs for hospitals. We are a target, like many of us, are on the road 6 days a week in multiple states. We should be able to protect ourselves, not just on our day off. People say it's not worth getting fired for, but are they saying that if they had to pull out a weapon in self defense, that they would rather have there job and not there life? Although I follow the rules, I still know that I would rather be alive and defending myself in court, rather than keeping my job and being dead.
I don't know why we aren't robbed daily. I would be more than happy to give someone the keys to my car and just walk away. You don't even need to point a gun. Just tell me you have one and I'll give up the car.

In my experience, UPS will absolutely declare the parking lot is their property when it involves theft/drug possession/etc by an employee or professional conduct issues. Then they'll run the other direction when someone's car gets vandalized or something is stolen by a non-employee wherein they might be considered liable.

Isn't that "irony 101" ??

Just like when all the people driving Pickup Trucks....

Have their spare tire stolen, in the company parking lot.

Not just one.... but all of them. (including management)

Depends on your state's gun laws.
There are laws some places that specifically allow guns in your vehicle whether the property owner/employer prohibits them or not.

Yep.

One DM told me that we are a "nonviolent" company so no guns were allowed on their property. "You can always file a grievance if you get accosted in a bad part of town" was his suggested recourse.

Had that happen with a female driver.

She is now an OMS.

Defending packages, is not worth your life.

No need to be a "Hero".

The issue is addressed in the National language.

I sat in my personal vehicle eating lunch one evening and watched the HR and loss-prevention specialists search a pt supervisor's car. They went through his trunk and several bags. Everyone hated this guy. Someone called in a bogus complaint that he was bringing guns to work. They didn't find anything that night.

If they want to search my vehicle, I think we will have to search the desks and offices of every manager and supervisor in the building first to prove the company contraband policy is being enforced equally.

If a person does not have a CHL in Tx, a gun can be in the vehicle, but it cannot be ready to fire?
The Ammo and the gun have to be in separate areas of vehicle?
Ammo in the Trunk and the rest of it in say, glove box?
But, if a person has a CHL, they can keep the gun ready to use within reach in the vehicle?
Not sure if this is correct or not, but hopefully you or someone else can give insight on this.

Once again people not understanding the difference between legal rights as a public citizen and as a private sector employee.our building has the proper legally recognized signs at the gates and guard shack prohibiting concealed hand guns on property.ON PROPERTY means on ur person or in ur vehicle.these are the same signs posted at schools and bars etc.

If u keep a gun under ur seat the only way the company would know is if u used it or pulled it on someone and a termination would immediately follow.

Not too many locking glove boxes out there now days. Anybody have one?
That's where the locking "Glock....I mean glove" box is.

There's different meanings of "termination" here. I have to wonder how many people have the wherewithal to know when to kill someone who's pointing a gun at you while you're working and when to just give them what they want and walk away.
The level of drug induced mindset of the perpetrator has everything to do with whether or not he/she may kill you and if you make the wrong choice one of three things will happen and two of them are bad..
