I was told the 4 doesn't work with Orion. I hope this means I never have to touch a diad 4 again now that we're on Orion.

Dispatch will eventually be done from a centralized location.

It already is. Atlanta tells them every day what they can dispatch. It will still always need to be executed on a local level. Too many variables where it can't be done from thousands of miles away. You'll see when you get ORION. ORION actually makes the dispatcher have to do more locally. ORION will make on roads obsolete but the dispatch supervisor will actually have more to do.

I don't think the diad itself has an issue with heat, it's the battery that suffers. Excessive heat kills a battery's life.

If I'm at lunch the DIAD was in the back of the truck, regardless of the temperature. No way was I taking that thing with me so they could interrupt my lunch with that stupid green light.
