In California, the order that candidates appear on ballots is determined by a randomization of the alphabet and then rotating the positions based on the California State Assembly district. This gives each candidate an equal chance to appear at the top of the ballot across the state.
This means that in some California assembly districts the order goes Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris, independent Robert friend. Kennedy Jr., libertarian Chase Oliver then Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
Then the former president appears last when the positions are rotated in some other districts where the order is: Harris, RFK Jr., Oliver, Stein and then Trump.

Voters have to press 'more' on the screen to be able to view and select Trump's name.
