Australia is totally freaking out with the POSSIBILITY of a Chinese navy base in the Solomon Islands which is "just" 2000km from Australia. Meanwhile, the US has nearly 200 military bases in Japan & South Korea, which are "more than" 300km from China. Nearly half of US overseas

The U.S. has 23 military installations in Japan with most of our troops living on 7 of them. We have 15 bases in South Korea. Once again just like Nader, Hedges, Chomsky, et al the people you cite lie and exaggerate.

Ricky, have you ever heard of the second world war?
Are you aware of anything that happened in the Solomon Islands.

If you are aware, exactly what was the significance?

Why would any anarchist or communist or even any democratic-socialist honestly believe that US hegemony is preferable to a multipolar world order?

And don’t give me that “democracy vs authoritarianism” nonsense. Many democracies in the global south are not on the NATO bandwagon.

"The recent book on US military bases around the world, Base Nation by Dr. David Vines states that the U.S. has over 800 military bases around the world. Germany, Japan and South Korea have the most U.S. bases. Germany has 174 U.S. military bases, Japan 113 and South Korea 83. Eight other nations have a total of 30 military bases outside their countries. Great Britain has seven bases and France five bases in their former colonies. Russia has eight bases in the former Soviet republics and one in Syria. "

My info was easy to look up on Google from several sources. He's probably counting radar towers and such. By the way, tens of thousands of dependents are on those bases in many countries. Hardly worried about making war from them.

Yah, if you count radar installations and such. Almost all of our troops in Japan for example live on 7 bases and there's almost as many dependents there as troops. Guess they didn't figure that at He-man Secret Spy School huh?
I'll also remind you that you spend unofficially 1 trillion plus on empire every year
