Fentanyl is a fairly recent phenomenon. It kills in minute amounts. Take it away and people will turn to another less lethal drug. To say it's not worth the effort is a head scratcher.

shockingly you sound a lot like a Democrat. They use the old it’s for the children and old people line all the time. The federal government cannot stop the flow of illegal drugs just like they could not stop the flow of illegal alcohol during prohibition. The difference now is the government has made their self a nice living pretending there’s a war on drugs. An endless war one that Joe Biden absolutely loved in the 90s. Simply outlawing them is not working we need a better plan. Until we change the onslaught will continue.

I don’t think it cares who it locks up. The end of drugs drug dealers and addiction would cause a massive part of our government to shut down and I don’t think they have any desire for that.

When the government came down on pharmaceutical companies about oxycotin did it continue to spread with no end in sight? Fentanyl is about entirely manufactured in China. Greatly inhibiting the smuggling into the U.S. will greatly reduce the profits of both its manufacturers and smugglers. People in the States will turn to other drugs. I never said people would stop doing drugs. But fentanyl is in a class by itself. Extremely deadly in inexperienced hands. Everything that could be done to stop it being distributed is a good thing. Or is it a Republican thing to not give a damn about your fellow man? I must have missed that memo.

Christ Van I thought Republicans were rugged individualists? How can you be a rugged individualist and need the government to save you from something you don’t have to do?. By your logic fentol being available means that everyone’s going to do it.
It’s the same argument they used with crack cocaine in the 80s and 90s.
Your thinking is flawed and old and hasn’t worked yet. And if by some chance you think the opioid crisis has subsided I suggest you take a step back and look a little harder. Nothing like legalize drug pushers continuing to push a highly addictive life altering drug.

Where's the oxycotin usage? Fentanyl stepped in when oxycotin dried up. And it's killing Americans like no other has ever. As far as rugged individualism and government you may have failed to notice Republicans make up almost half of Congress and soon will be more than half. You may not have noticed that it was conservatives on SCOTUS that finally got Roe reversed. What your group is saying essentially is down with government. Which in effect puts you in league with the far Left that wants to eliminate the Constitution and completely alter our society. How about some rugged unity for once against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC?

My group? Lol your funny continue to give the federal government unlimited power and unlimited budget, they do become our enemy read some history books.
I am not for the elimination of our government i’m for the elimination of bad government and intrusive one. Left wing right wing it’s the same bird. And the only difference between the two parties is the speed at which you get to your final destination. When Trump does something good I will applaud him when he does not I will not do because he’s not my hero. Same goes for Biden although there’s scant reason to applaud him.

Republicans in general are for limited government. But one of the duties of the Federal government is a secure border. It seems you're against efforts to make that happen. And a reason for that appears to be that you think the government will use that against the citizenry Soviet Union style. Your paranoia guides your reasoning.

And they were probably deep in the drug trade so it’s really not shocking that they would be caught up going to prison so did a lot of white poor people and many other nationalities.

It’s not paranoia when it’s becoming reality my good friend, under this regime we are now the enemy. and they think they can use every weapon and intelligence agency against us at their will. Yeah just like the Stazi and Soviet Union. You’re really very hardheaded. And I still like you so I’m not going to argue with you. I will not be anyone’s cheerleader I will call them as I see them. Growing up I loved Ronald Reagan and still like him quite a bit. But I realize now he promised to get rid of the Department of Education and did not, many of the problems we have now can be treated to that. He also Bent the knee on immigration. He was a man who did a lot of good and also made a lot of mistakes.

We have the ability to change regimes. Refusing to participate won't make that happen. And while the Biden administration has authoritarian tendencies, we're a long way from being just like the Soviet Union. A long ways.

I’ve never missed a vote, even at midterms,

Well some say we don’t have ability to change because it’s rigged? So which is it?

Have you seen one party rule in the U.S.?

I’ve seen a lot of things I never thought I would see in the US in the last two years what’s your point? That we should lay down and be still? That were not Soviet Russia yet? Do you have a high tolerance for authoritarianism?

No, I'm saying it's nowhere near that and you're saying it is. When we can no longer vote our candidates into office I'll believe you. But I'm very much against fear mongering what if scenarios. Prefer to shed light on what's actually happening and there's plenty of that. But turning everyone on the other side into boogie men has never turned out well throughout history. Think Salem witch trials. Or recently race hustlers having many blacks convinced that white cops are systematically hunting and killing blacks. When you demonize the opposition, or the government, bad things will happen. And just because they do it doesn't mean we should.
