A lot of guys want the older ones because they don't beep for everything you do or don't do in the cab.

I know that's the case for some guys. But I know at least one driver whose truck was in the shop and they gave him a new automatic. Mechanic said he wouldn't have his truck back for 2 days. The guy tried to bribe him with a case of beer to get it done quicker because he thought the new one accelerated at half the speed of smell.

I still think its a stupid idea to try to refrofit those old manuals with new electronics. Telematics isn't so bad but the keyless is stupid.

I like the automatic door opener (when it works right) but the keyless isn't any faster then just leaving the key in the ignition all day.

I never wanted the keyless on the old GMC's. Waste of money and time.
