Nope--I've spent many hours in Iowa (I actually lived there from birth through 3rd grade) and have NEVER heard anyone say "want to HAVE catch.

My dad grew up on a farm in southern Minnesota and I've never heard him say "Have a catch". I played throughout my youth and never heard it either.

There were a few issues. First, Costner and Brown talked and suggested to the director that no one says, “Want to have a catch?” at least where they grew up. You said, “play catch.” Robinson, who was from New York, where they said “have a catch,” shot them down.
