Future Speculation

So you are asserting the Wall Street Journal piece with Peter Smith's statement "I was recruited to collude with the Russians" has no merit. On its own that statement isn't earth shaking; however, Mr. Smith had a "working relationship" with Flynn's consulting firm when looking to groom new "assets." This just can't be ignored considering Trump openly admitted he fired Coney, at least in part, due to his continued investigation of Flynn. Even if all of this does turn out to be "fake news," which I doubt, Mr. Trump is to blame as brought all of this on himself. Common sense would suggest that hiring foreign agents to run your campaign could lead to trouble, but I guess the whole "fake news" bit is enough of an explanation for Trump's base.
Drumpf has no common sense. And every day the evidence that he is going senile is getting greater and greater.

Don't mistake his lack of familiarity with the way government works with an inability to do the job.
I don't. The combination of his not caring to learn how it works, inability to stay on message, his incessant NEED for adulation and lack of thickness of any emotional skin whatsoever leads me to believe there is something seriously wrong with him.

Or is that just corporate America mindset circa 2017?

I've watched local management suck up to district directors I don't know how many times. So yeah, corporate America is a bunch of little kingdoms where yes men suck up to too many CEO's IMO.

How is his behavior advancing his agenda? Do silly offensive tweets bring more people on board his healthcare plan?
I'm not approving it, makes me cringe. But it's disingenuous for those on the Left to tut tut everything he twitters about because everything you're doing is designed to stop his agenda. Kathy Griffith does an ISIS like beheading and then whines that Trump is destroying her career. Everyone is outraged at his attacking the MSNBC morning anchors, yet they go after him all the time. He SHOULD be presidential, rise above it all. That's just not his style. He'd rather punch you in the nose. But remember this: Presidents can introduce legislation, they can sign it into law or veto it. They can't however create law, they can't legislate. So it's up to Congress to do that, not him. Sure he can give executive orders as long as they comply with existing law. He can't speak healthcare law into existence. So he can twitter to his heart's content if he wants. Up to Congress to put bills on his desk to sign. Would be nice if the twittering said something profound, not likely to happen.

So that's a no? Of course democrats are doing everything in their limited power to stop his agenda. So far his only agenda is undoing the progress made under Obama.

To get the ACA passed Obama was out speaking about it. He held town halls to address questions about it. He spoke with congress to try and get people on board. Trump couldn't do that if he wanted to because he doesn't understand the proposed law.

Trump is tweeting Gifs of himself beating up a CNN logo. This is more than a minor style difference.

Kathy Griffin is an individual, and the country roundly criticized her. Trump as the PRESIDENT has consistently denigrated the press and the country is criticizing him rightly. Trump is a old man with a child mentality that most parents wouldn't let their children emulate. If your five year old said that he was calling someone insulting names because someone called him a name, you would tell him to stop. Trump uses insults like an undisciplined child . He has something wrong with him. Either he has a personality disorder, and can't behave like a normal person in our society, or he is getting senile, and if you defend his actions, the same goes for you.

Or maybe Trump is redefining 'Presidential' based on feedback from social media, the new citadel of our free society.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? He gets slammed for pretty much everything, 24/7, and they go after his family too. Again, for the millionth time, I wish he'd stop the tweeting, act more presidential. But to say he does this or that when the media has gone ballistic since his winning is hypocritical. When he said during the debates that he might not accept her winning she rightly ripped into him for that. Look at the hypocrisy after he won. Get your ducks in a row and go after the election with determination in 2020. He won, it's his until then, deal with it.

Trump isn't redefining 'presidential.' He's just acting like a senile man-child. If you want to claim that Trump is acting like an adult saying that he is 'redefining' the term by acting like a child, you have a problem. Just like those who commit sexual assault don't get to redefine what being a real man is, Trump doesn't get to redefine what acting presidential means just because he can't act presidential himself.
