Over 83% of our population live in cities. More than $.88 of every dollar of the US GDP is generated in urban areas. Chicago is a major city for world wide banking, markets and corporate headquarters. Chicago's GDP is greater than Iraq's. Iraq is the 6th largest oil producing country in the world. My wife and I have business interests in Chicago and understand it's economical importance, but yes, living there is not on want list.
