Ground Folks: Reactions to Delivering Express

If wanting an official document from the company is considered drinking the kool aid these days then I guess yeah I have. Whatever floats your boat bro
I read an official document this morning and basically stated different markets meant different outcomes. How’s your ground hub , are you close to an airport , are there many available jobs in your area , etc.

A guy on Reddit w ts to know why. UPS makes more money, Hello they have representation. If you work for the same company and the Ground guy makes less you will soon make less or nothing at all. Econ 101 is not taught in schools.

The genie is out of the bottle. They will only ever give ground more, not less, eventually phasing out express couriers. Maybe not tomorrow, but eventually. Welcome to being the boiling frog.
I’ve been a driver for 17 years, I don’t boil. I turn up the heat. I’ve done very well from myself.

Lol that’s all everyone says, nobody provides anything factual. Board’s funny af. Believes unverified information from some dude on browncafe. Unless my manager himself comes up to me and says I’m being let go then it’s business as usual. Not gonna make decisions based on gossip. I suggest y’all do the same instead of hoping for people to lose their jobs. Childish
I guess you haven’t heard raj’s own words. I’d ask the guys in Clarksville, Tn if it’s just rumors. This is only the beginning

Not really , I’m good. Just stating my opinion. Buildings have to go up , logistics on rts , leases still meant , ground has to be able to show they can employ enough workers in the area. We can’t staff Express , too many easier jobs , plus kids don’t sling boxes anymore.
Just reality , they’re executives , not wizards

There are Ground drivers everywhere, buildings are more modern than Express, bigger trucks, just point them Semis from the airport to Ground facilities, install a roller deck, not enough drivers that’s what Freight is for.

Perfect point , maybe in YOUR market but it’s not like that in mine. See what I’m saying

I wouldn’t mind it if we were paid a premium price for it. The cost savings for moving freight to Ground is astronomical. But that’s who they are. All about the stockholders.
Under current contracts, I don’t think any of the contractors will see anything, have you heard of any re-negotiation news, addressing this type of thing?

Haven’t seen anything yet but I’d be surprised if they don’t. I know the company would just like to act like the Ground is simply supposed to step up and take it on and be horse whipped into compliance but I’ve seen too many changes to believe that will happen. They don’t have 18 months to get it right. Probably not 6.
