Which part? And why the need for a racially-exclusive additional national anthem if it is?

Lift Every Voice and Sing: The history, the lyrics and the impact (cnn.com)

"For more than a century, “Lift Every Voice and Sing” has held a powerful place in American history. The hymn is known as the Black National Anthem, but it’s more than that. It’s a history lesson, a rallying cry, a pledge of unity, and as people gather to fight for equality and justice, it is an ever-present refrain."

Verse 1:

Lift every voice and sing,
Till earth and heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory is won.

Verse 2:

Stony the road we trod,
Bitter the chastening rod,
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;
Yet with a steady beat,
Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered.
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,
Out from the gloomy past,
Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.

Verse 3:

God of our weary years,
God of our silent tears,
Thou who hast brought us thus far on the way;
Thou who hast by Thy might,
Led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee;
Shadowed beneath Thy hand,
May we forever stand,
True to our God,
True to our native land.

I'm truly sorry that beautiful song hurt you so much.

The super bowl broadcast was 12 hours long. I'm sorry that 3 minutes of those 12 hours weren't directly pandered towards you. You Will Survive! Trust me.

If the song offends you then change the channel.

Nonhyphenated American
I would absolutely prefer abortion didn't happen but if it is allowed then it should be before the baby experiences pain. The Left is horrified that states are allowed to put restrictions on it. But the Right is horrified that there are states which are willing to abort way beyond that pain threshold.
You’re rationalizing a compromise that still kills an unborn human.

I’m truly sorry that you apparently believe that racial segregation is beautiful.

I'm saying if it's going to happen then only under certain conditions. If you don't want it under any circumstances that's understandable and I agree. But I will make an exception for rape and incest as long as it's done before the baby can experience pain.

The song argues against racial segregation.

The world does not revolve around you. You are not a princess. 3 minutes of television wasn't directly pandered towards you. It's okay. You will survive. Trust me.

Just looked at the lyrics. It's a well written poem but doesn't appear to be against segregation.

Lift EVERY Voice.

Yes, lift every black voice. The song was written in 1900. It’s not talking about any other race marching on until victory is won at the end of the first verse. It’s not talking about any other race in any of its 3 verses.

Leftists wish we still lived in the year 1900. We do not.

Lift EVERY Voice.
Written by a black man for black people. How you deduced the word "every" meant all people and was against segregation when it was written in if I remember right 1900 when integration wasn't even a consideration is beyond me.

Why is a black national anthem divisive?
Um, it's in the name. It's not for everyone, it's for blacks. This is simple stuff my good buddy.

I assure you, it is the right that yearns to live in the 1950’s.

Sure. But they don't think we're actually living in the 1950s like leftists do.
