You likely would.
Doubtful.
You likely would.
If you had worked inside "for peanuts" (as you called it) and finally had enough juice to go full-time YOU would definitely had been pissed if some cherry from out of nowhere, or pimple faced part-time sup, came in and was given the position that you had rightly earned and deserved. Especially if you had a family and were working two or three jobs as a part of you doing your part to support your family. Thats just human nature and you are no different.Doubtful.

I am stealing this and adding it to my repertoirebut it's not rocket-surgery
You've been called worse by everyone in here, deservingly so.I've been called worse by better.

You need a girlfriend...seriously.Thank you for proving my point.
The correct word is "deservedly".
Let us not worry about that which we have no control. You'd think differently about off the streets if you had been one of the people (including veterans) that DID bust their ass working inside, many for ten or more years, only to be passed over.
I would agree with that if I didn't remember that as a dues paying member of the Teamsters union I am part of the contract proposal process.Let us not worry about that which we have no control.
Like I've always said ...vote to change it.I would agree with that if I didn't remember that as a dues paying member of the Teamsters union I am part of the contract proposal process.
Exactly! I actually suggest that everytime.Like I've always said ...vote to change it.
I think if an inside employee failed at driving, their next opportunity should be 6 months regardless. The company has been able to pass over too many inside employees by having 1 and 2 year wait times. The employee can obviously turn it down.Exactly! I actually suggest that everytime.
I would rather see UPS only hire off the street whenever they are unable to obtain someone from within from the part-time pool. That should be rare though.I think if an inside employee failed at driving, their next opportunity should be 6 months regardless. Yes. That's what I mean. And it does happen nowadays but not often. And never in my area.Just curious, did you read my post?
Now I've gone from nervous of my decision, to feeling like a dick for jumping on the opportunity. I didn't know any of this going in. I was told there's an opportunity and I jumped on it.
This should be interesting....
