a long time ago when i was younger and unwise, i used to debate politics with my dad every day at the breakfast table for about 1.5 years and would tell him about hte only 3 investments - gold silver and btc. i dont recommend debating with friends excessively because it will affect your relationship. i told my dad to switch news channels because regardless of whether or not these investments would go up, i knew the fake news he was watching was garbage. but i failed to convince him. dad had partially the right idea that i should invest long term but he said real estate, which i never did because after all these countries real estate bubbles popped i figured the same would happen here which didnt happen. my parents invested in another real estate but they bought around the high and had it for about 10 years. if they held on 15 or 20 years they wouldve had alot more money.
