Thank goodness I don't live in a worse area. I see and hear enough where I am.
That's my point. You think you have perspective but you don't. Gangs have been around for a very long time. It's not a new phenomenon. There are white gangs, Black gangs, Mexican gangs, Asian gangs, etc., etc. There are many reasons why people join gangs none of which have to do with one's color or heritage. Articles like the one you posted do nothing but try to single out one group of people and perpetuate racist stereotypes. .

You missed where I said I’m seeing it from MY perspective. What I see around me, where I live.

Growing up in the DC suburbs we heard about gangs in DC. The thing about them though that was always different from many big city gangs is, as long as you stayed out of their areas/hoods you didn’t have a problem. Their fights were with each other. All that changed when MS-13 came to town. They are everywhere in the suburbs. Now everyone has to worry about crime because of them. DC gangs are still in DC.

Dear lord girl, you have lived a sheltered life. Gangs and gang affiliated crime never just stay in one specific area. MS-13 wasn't the first and most certainly won't be the last.
