But that's not the point. Anyone with determination and hard work can make a decent living in the U.S. today. Should we educate about the past? Absolutely. Should we interpret everything through the prism of racism today. No. That divides us and the Left seems to want division.

People here don’t even want to acknowledge the unique burdens on blacks in this country. Pretending racism is in the past with no implications on the present is disingenuous at best.

And others want to hold whites completely responsible for what goes on in minority communities. Try acknowledging that most Black murders are committed by other Blacks. That Blacks have a much higher percentage of unwed mothers and a much higher rate of abortion. When you see intact Black families that emphasize education you usually see successful people. Personal responsibility isn't racism.

At what point in history will Blacks no longer carry this burden?
The motivated Blacks have done well in this country in the last 50 years.
There are more poor Whites than there are poor Blacks.
Whites have unique burdens as well ... they have to be better to get the same jobs and opportunities as Blacks.
Maybe there is something different in Urban and Super-urban environments ... if so, I cannot relate or speak to that.

Why is it that other groups have come here and prospered? Why is it that prosperous blacks are accused by other Blacks of trying to act white? We've gone to great lengths to insure a level playing field, to be fair to the point of giving them advantages. At some point rather than blame their failings on whites they are going to have to be more introspective and work towards improving their mindset, their sub-culture. Hard to do when liberals who want their vote trot out how racist the country is before every election.

Usage might be the same but what about selling and distribution? Bet the rate for that is much higher amongst blacks. But I'm not talking about crime. Talking about the workplace, education opportunities. As long as a large percentage don't value education they will continue to be involved in drugs and living in poverty. And that applies to any race.

Every large scale seller or distributor I dealt with was white.
Redlining prevented blacks from owning homes in better neighborhoods. Their collective education continues to suffer because of that. Either you believe there is a history of discrimination that continues today or believe blacks are inherently inferior incapable of success on their own merits.
