You have an option week instead of sick days, essentially giving you an extra vacation week. What you really need is for them to make it so you can break them up into individual days then you'll be set.I wish UPS Teamsters had paid sick days.
Never gave a flying fig if they were short staffed or not. I’m not coming in.You don't put in for it... Just call out and option 3. If they say the classic "but we're short staffed and need you!" line then tough luck. They'll figure it out.

I never had that option in the central. They are broken into individual days if you choose the correct option.
We have it now, I’m not certain it’s everywhere. The language around it is very Watered down,I never had that option in the central.
I believe it's for full time employees only. Otherwise the only option is whether you want to work it or not.We have it now I’m not certain it’s everywhere
We get one option week and can break up two weeks if we should choose, we have to designate when we pick.I believe it's for full time employees only. Otherwise the only option is whether you want to work it or not.
Like most things ups has bastardized the option days and weeksWe call them option weeks. You can break them apart. Sounds good in theory, but it doesn’t work very well.
No sick days in central region, traded for an option week. You cannot break up your option week until you get your 3rd vacation week at 8 years.
That Language has been in there as long as I can remember, and I don’t ever recall having sick time. This useless piece of language is probably what the central "union officials" traded your sick time for. And they're really proud of it.

We get 5 sick. 5 personal. And a bonus optional week after 15 years company seniority. We call them option weeks. You can break them apart. Sounds good in theory, but it doesn’t work very well.
Yes, I think different parts of the country get the week’s broken up differently, due to separate agreements, but it usually ends up being the same amount of days totalWe get 5 sick. 5 personal. And a bonus optional week after 15 years company seniority.
Typically. But regardless management will try and do as they please with your days off on call ins. They tried to burn an optional day for me when I called out one day. That was not a good day for them when I walked in the next morning.Yes, I think different parts of the country get the week’s broken up differently, due to separate agreements, but it usually ends up being the same amount of days total
Yeah, most definitely try to water it down and bastardize it.Typically. But regardless management will try and do as they please with your days off on call ins. They tried to burn an optional day for me when I called out one day. That was not a good day for them when I walked in the next morning.
