Integrating FedEx Express into Ground

It will be fine

I was told by mgmt at my ramp that stations in Nashville were gonna close within a year. They were wrong and seem to know less than new hire handlers.

Don’t know and don’t care about a 30 day window.

Raj said that the merge would be completed by June 24. The savings from the merge would begin to reflect in 25.
Raj said the corporate restructure would be done by June 24. He never said operations would be done by then. That must be why you are so confused.

Thats not what he said. People seem to be very confused with this like the Step progression plan. The combing of the drivers/buildings, etc was supposed to be something like 2027. Its looks like that timeline now has been pushed out to about 4-5 years from this point. The June of 2024 target date was supposed to be the combining of the systems, behind the scenes operations stuff. The visible, frontline operations that take place out on the road are not going to finish being squeezed for another few years.

Did you watch FedEx now? That is what he said.

Freddy will be on Fox at 6:00 he will say the economy is so bad, FedEx’s problems with the merger are not our fault. Ground contractors are not just recognizing the opportunity to go into debt and work their transient work force extra hours for the same pay. The work incentives are just not there, oh ignore all the Express employees dangling by a string, just listen to the wizard behind the curtain.

Just got a corporate email this morning from John smith. It looks like you and dano are dead wrong. I hate always being right!
No kidding? So tell me what's old Johnny Dollar Sign been up to these days? Chances are life for his peasants isn't likely to get much better now that the stock target price is getting lowered, freight volumes struggling and the DJT having to work hard to stay above the trend line and his company isn't helping it given it's now trading below the stock shock price after last quarter's earnings were released.

2.5 years ago the move to Ground was stated but still little has taken place, shareholders were told June 2024 and they are.no closer than before, just get a giant dump truck dump all the Express packages on the Ground contractors and say it’s your problem.

That's really about the reality from the standpoint of what corporate is saying to contractors....." Here it is Pally....You figure it out"
At the same time the contractor response should be....."In exchange for what"? This is what contractors should be demanding to know AHEAD of the assumption of all these additional potential service related penalties along with the heightened potential for nonrenewal especially if you're operating in a high mileage, high cost per mile but low package volume area.

Remember, the entire purpose of the consolidation is to reestablish the previous high margins of air freight and to do that it means burdening contractors with the task of fulfilling that goal for whatever the company is willing to pay. And getting the money out of them will require an act of Congress or an act of God.
