This is who they face, they who send rockets each day:
Thousands and thousands of rockets have come from Gaza unanswered.
They waited until after the elections in this country in my opinion.
They (Israel) have had enough.

There are a couple of people on this thread that are completely wrong with the theories about Hamas' intentions, Israel's capabilities and the "options". 4 years in the Army as a cook and now a union truck driver do not qualify you as a military strategist. Just an uninformed union truck driver with theories and opinions

Obama warns Egyptian President Morsi to rein in terrorists in Gaza
By Julian Pecquet | November 19, 2012
President Obama on Monday warned Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi that he must get the violence in
Gaza under control.

Frustration in the U.S. over rocket attacks on Israel from Hamas militants is increasingly centered on
Egypt, and is expected to raise pointed questions from lawmakers next week about the $2 billion in
annual American aid to that country.
Obama warns Egyptian President Morsi to rein in terrorists in Gaza - The Hill's Global Affairs

Note the assumption that Mr. Morsi has direct control over Hamas. Of course it is a perfectly safe
assumption, given that Hamas is an off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.

In fact, the Congressional Research Service said in 1993: "Hamas had its beginnings in 1967 as a wing
of the Muslim Brotherhood."

We a have a few people on this thread with a dead serious Army background.
We have a few people on this thread with Air Force background.
And not everyone is a service provider / driver.

Nothing wrong with providing an opinion or a theory.

There's more to Israel and her enemies than meets the eye.

Question(s): Zionists don't want a 2 state solution and instead want all the land. That being so, how would Israel justify getting the land had the Palestinians remained non violent in Gaza and the West Bank? That said, who really benefits from these rocket attacks by Hamas?

Hamas benefits.
Because any challenges by Israel to stop the attacks will result in civilian deaths since Hamas uses civilian occupied locations as their launching pads .

I heard an interesting viewpoint on this today. Israel is in position to dominate Gaza with relative ease. They've done it before. But it is a short term solution to a long term problem that will only return again. The endgame is at the negotiation table and it seems very few really want a solution at this time.

If Hamas considers this a victory, I’d love to see what a defeat looks like.
Via JPost:

Hamas reacted to the Egyptian-brokered cease-fire agreement that was announced Wednesday by declaring “victory” over Israel.

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip reacted to the cease-fire announcement by taking to the streets to celebrate Hamas’s “victory.”

Similar celebrations were also reported in some West Bank cities late Wednesday.

Drivers honked their cars and women ululated to express their joy over the cease-fire agreement. Others handed out candies to express their joy over the cease-fire agreement.

Palestinian gunmen fired shots into the air in Gaza City while others kissed the ground in a sign of jubilation.

While I am aware that there are two sides to the story and that there certainly has been wrongdoing on Israels part...the fact remains that it is impossible to arrive at a negotiated solution with an entity whose default position is that you have no right to exist and must be destroyed.

Until the people of Gaza find a way to expel the terrorist Hamas elements in their midst...nothing is going to change. There will be a temporary cease fire...then Hamas will violate it by firing rockets at Israeli civilians...then Israel will respond by attacking the rocket launching sites that Hamas has positioned in civilian areas...then inocent Gazan civilians will be killed and the whole world will blame Israel.

Israel isnt going away. The sooner that the Arab world recognizes and accepts this immutable fact, the sooner than meaningful negotiations can begin.
