you realize we moved an embassy in London and spent 1.5 billion dollars doing so? why does it take 1.5 billion dollars to build an embassy? poor example for your argument.

We sold the old building along with some other US property in and around London to offset some of the cost. As we learned in Tanzania embassy's are soft targets. Take a look at the new embassy . It looks like a fortress. Higher security higher blast resistance. The lack of which was a bitter lesson we learned in Tanzania.
