I'm curious, how can a person who never served a day in the military become a 4-star general? @Lineandinitial is this an honorary thing they've done before?
This is yet another slap in the face to born women who worked their butts off and put up with a lot of crap to advance in the military. Born women are slowly being erased.
They’re “Commissioned and Uniformed”, but not “Armed”.
NOAA and PHS are part of the Uniformed Services”. Personnel do not have to have previously served to get those Commissions.
It’s a very old custom that is still around.
It made sense many many decades ago, but those people are never at risk of capture and do not need protection like the Geneva Conventions give military POW’s

More like centuries ago.

This should be interesting. I wonder which country that criminalizes homosexuality will be the first to not let an American with the x-gender marker on their passport leave the country, thus creating an international incident? And yes, I realize that x-gender doesn’t necessarily equal homosexuality.

Depends on how you define homosexual. My daughter has a friend who is biologically female but identifies as a gay male who is attracted to men.

If she doesn't tell the male about her twisted"what she thinks", if they had sex, it would be a normal heterosexual sexual relationship.

Imagine being the guy who just screwed her and she says "I'm gay and a male so what we just did makes you gay."lol
Holy Sheet! That will be one to tell his buddies.

Wouldn't it depend on which entrance, or exit, was used?

I'd be surprised if he told anyone.
