I hate the classic stereotype of the modernist artists, suffering souls that eventually killed themselves before they had the opportunity to exactly be good at their craft. Vincent Van Gogh really started that trend, but Vincent was a superb painter and created a good body of work in such a short period of time. He died at 38 and created probably close to a thousand works of art, but in his lifetime he just sold one painting for roughly 30 dollars to an distant relative.. These celebrated contemporary artists that died before they were 30 never developed, the work is for the most part pathetic.

I never look at any modern art today, most of them are con artist and clowns, playing the court jester to the elitist.

Picasso was a gifted artist but sucked as an individual, he never grew up. His talent is evident from his childhood days and his work is worth studying. Bacon .. an English painter borrowed a lot from Picasso during his surrealist years...Bacon did probably influence a lot of the early Abstract Expressionists in America during the 50’s and 60’s.
Picasso is just better in my opinion. I don’t know much about the guy honestly, just seen some of his work and bacon reminded me a :censored2:tier version of that.

I’m not a huge fan of this art style, I like a lot of Christianity inspired art. The church motivated people to make some masterpieces that’s for sure.

Bosch was my favorite painter when I was little.

Wow, and I mean this sincerely, it's nice to read something here that's about something substantial.

Bosch was one crazy dude...there was a lot of bizarre imagery going on during the reformation, particularly in the northern countries.

Most of Bosch’s work could stand out today, very contemporary. Another weird artist was James Ensor who lived lived 300 years after Bosch...My favor is Max Beckman, I have always admired the German Expressionist movement at the turn of the 20th century.

It is funny that Bosch’s paintings were altarpieces and actually hung in a church. It must of been one crazy period of history back in the 15 th century. The Black Plague was one of the contributing factors to these artists, everybody thought it was the end of the earth, you could blame them. 💀

They’re crazy. And spreading false information. Why in the world do they think it’s okay to teach K-3rd graders about gender identity?
Indoctrination. The progressives want children to look favorably at a certain lifestyle.
Young children don't understand all this gender identity, LBGBTQ, whatever.
They are indoctrinating. That's what this is all about.
