CBS New York reports that 31-year-old Rashid Brimmage is a “registered sex offender who police say has been arrested about 65 times.” His long list of alleged offenses include “assault, harassment, resisting arrest and persistent sexual abuse,” and he is currently scheduled to appear in court in July for multiple arrests earlier this year. This is a direct result of NY's No Bail Reforms.

The mayor of Seattle called CHOP "a summer of love festival." Seriously, people were murdered, raped, beaten there. Buildings defaced. And that happened all over the country with police being told to stand down. If you don't approve send in the cops, send in the National Guard. Apparently they approved.

One thing I've never liked here in the south are Confederate statutes on courthouse grounds that were typically erected during the Jim Crow era. Presumably to intimidate black people as they had their day in court, hoping to receive equal treatment and justice under the law. The statue was the first thing they'd see when walking into the courthouse and the last thing they'd see walking out.

So I think the general vicinity of courthouses is probably fair game for painting messages on the street, etc.
