From what I've read there earlier this year, this has been planned and isn't really a surprise to those working there since one of the area's other facilities went automated.

We get a lot of volume from Mesquite. It’ll be interesting to see how this affects things.

 

[Box Handler of Dallas]

The news we're getting in the Dallas hub is that Mesquite will be down 18 months, up to 4 years. Dallas is bringing back the day and night sort for Mesquite volume that their employees will move to process.
