The biggest problem I know of is MDC is reducing Centers inventories without any notice. We had parts that turn over 50 times a year get changed to 0-max in the inventory. But I have noticed that more orders are not being filled. Maybe they decided to see if we would re-order, just to make sure we REALLY need it... I feel your pain 1Brownwrench.
Noticed an increase in getting parts that belong to a different center and other centers getting mine- damages and fall outs are on the rise.
That's what they prefer us to do now rather than carry inventory.
That would be a paycut, Mechanics make more than drivers per hour. But drivers will get more OT
No OT, but some will run a sideline business (cash only) and make up for a drivers OT. Get paid to work at home while drinking beer.
No, we do not! We get paid probably $2 less per hour now.
Contract on order, ok to run.
We do probably have better medical, which we are paying dearly for.
Are you guys not Teamsters with the same benefits as PT and drivers?
Most are Machinists Union seems but could be wrong Teamsters cover ones in Michigan East side and Northern parts
DNR is fine here- shut off for anything that costs over 1,000
Everyone is a Teamster in my building. Mechanics make a bit more an hour but can not bid into driving or other jobs.
