Yes, we have looked into something like that, the threads would be categorized into your specific local, real names only though. Nobody is going to go to a UPS forum to learn about current events in the world.

Thank you for this informative post. I figured it might be something like what you describe above. On one extreme I wouldn't expect a live Youtube feed where we could watch the negotiations taking place in real time, but on the other hand, when I read some update like "three proposals were agreed upon and two were withdrawn, without knowing anything about the substance of those proposals, I feel such an update tells me almost nothing.

Years ago, for one negotiation, my own Local 705 put on their website basically what they and also what the company wanted the new contract to say. It was the point from which the negotiations were starting. Neither side got everything they wanted, but at least it was helpful to me to be able to see what each side was asking for.
What I have learned in this process is the “opening proposals“ we ask for the Sun and the Moon while the company attempts to take away everything. They both get rewritten over and over. I like better the fact that we are messaging the basic principles we are negotiating for:
