Canadian unemployment rate falls to 7.4 per cent, as 22,300 jobs added in May
OTTAWA - Canada's unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest level in more than two years as a combination more jobs and fewer people actively seeking work in May pushed the rate to 7.4 per cent.
Statistics Canada said 22,300 new jobs were created last month, slightly above consensus following the previous month's strong 58,000 gain.
The last time Canada's employment rate was as low as 7.4 per cent was in January 2009, a few months after the economy had been plunged into the deep global recession.

The lowest level in two years. And yet..........
The lowest level in two years. And yet..........
That's the 2 years of Obama !
Moreluck, let me explain it this way :
If you were a tiny nation, lets say California as it's own country, but with even less population, and you were the USA's largest trading partner (larger then China, Germany).
Wouldn't you somewhat be dependent on how well your neighbor and trading partner is doing ?
And that explains this.................??............................."That's the 2 years of Obama !"
We have 2 million LESS jobs since Obama took office.....that's some backward Canadian math you have there. The recovery here is beyond slow....it's non existent.Yup, no matter what you say, but Obama faced a great depression, and the largest recession. He pulled out of it.
I don't care if it's going to slow for you, but Americans see growth (not a recession).... and that's what matters.
He created jobs, while when he took office jobs were vanishing by a 3/4 million per month.
Slow growth is better then what you had !
Hey, when Bush left office, how much was a share of UPS ? $46 ? You can have that back, just vote as expected.
We'll find out Aug 2nd.Well, he wanted to make healthcare cheaper for everyone, but reps are against it. His health care is actually probably 10x more costly than what he said...so he lied!
He wanted to cut the tax breaks for the rich, but the reps don't want it.
He did cut military spending back along with NASA spending.Starting a 3rd & 4th war is not cutting military
Lets see in the future if any of those 2 parties ever agree on something, that actually reduces spending.

Just so you get things straight about our gov't.......The Democrats like to spend and want to increase the debt ceiling and spend some more.......and the Republicans want to cut spending to pay down the deficit and be more responsible like homeownwers with a budget.
The Dems were in charge of the house & senate........Then why wasn't that policy done under Bush ? Or was he a liberal ?
