LOL

the corruption is amazing. new york is rich. i agree they need better luxury public transit.
rickyb, did you see the story about the NYC Marathon might have to be cancelled because the Transit Authority wants to be compensated for the loss revenue while a bridge is closed for the runners.
What can be more environmentally friendly than using your feet to travel ?

No, we say there isn’t anything to cure. We like our cars and we like our freedoms.. the last thing we wanna do is have to ride on mass transit with smelly people.
yea but what about manhattan congestion? cars are not the solution, theyre too inefficient. what about rush hour. its a problem.

Mainland China is as large as the U.S. Where are all the railways in western China? And what do people do in eastern China if they don't live near one of those railways? Your picture doesn't show a cure to rush hour traffic. It shows high speed rail linking cities. Taking that instead of airplanes. That's fine, but it doesn't solve highway congestion.

high speed rail does solve rush hour in part. its way more efficient. they even ship goods on it which is more competitive.

What in part? The people participating in rush hour are either going to work from their homes or back home again from work. You get on high speed rail at your city's station to go to next city station or beyond. It doesn't drop you off locally. Local subways are fine in a highly congested area. But are impractical for suburbs. Bus networks are fine but are nowhere near as efficient as a car. And when you ship goods by high speed rail you still have to load them from trucks or offload them onto trucks. It's much more efficient to use freight trains that can carry a lot more.

you guys keep saying cars are the cure
Yes, they are.
I have the freedom to travel anywhere I choose.
Stay for how ever I wish.
And at any moment I can just leave.
No waiting around for tracks to be repaired, waiting for railroad strikers to come back to work, and no more waiting for freight lines to clear.
