I don’t know about the southern supplement for sure, but couldn’t you technically still use them before the end of the year? Perhaps they will pay in January.I’m currently on worker’s comp and my option day and 8 hr option week balance weren’t paid out. I’ve read read that it won’t get paid out until I return to work. Is this true? Southern Supplemt btw.

Taxed the same. May be withheld at a different rate.Optional Day pay is considered a gift and is taxed at a higher rate when issued as a separate check.
When used during a normal workweek , it's taxed as regular pay.

Yes tax free, but here you have to fill out an earnings report to LM every week and you must show any additional earning you get no matter where it comes from. Vacation, option days, etc they are considered additional earnings. It may not be like that everywhere, but it is here in Florida.Worker’s Comp. tax free
