vigils across the country.

likely the most meaningful thing hes ever done, or any of us will ever do.

Anarchists should strive for more if they believe setting themselves on fire is the most meaningful thing they can do with their lives.

A year earlier, he could have made it on Best Gore.
He was a loser and thankfully he didn’t blow himself up in a crowd of Canadians…

Wait…

Depends on what you're fighting for. Standing up for something that can get you killed isn't the same as killing yourself to make a statement. One is risk. The other is throwing everything away. In the end most people know who MLK was. This guy will be a footnote in history who very few will know about. So if you want to make the most impact you don't cut your time short.

But the thing with you rickyb is you're protesting things like not having better pay or working conditions. Except your concepts of better pay and better conditions are high pay, great benefits, no stress, long periods off, equal share of power. Would be a strange hill to die on for those issues.

Anarchists might be excited about one of their own having set himself on fire since that's apparently their greatest dream in life. But he's not MLK level to the rest of the world because he didn't actually do any of the productive things that MLK did. He just set himself on fire. We'll never hear from him again.

No, it isn't. Abuse of power often leads to rebellion. Wise use of power by those in power is admired. Everyone having equal power leads to anarchy and inefficiency.

abuse of power more often than not does not lead to rebellion.

you even admit america has record political corruption and yet theres very little protests.

every one having power is less efficient than 1 person having power aka a dictatorship. no it doesnt lead to anarchy

You constantly whine and bellyache about how corrupt America is and yet you're perfectly fine with gulping down propaganda coming out of far more corrupt countries like China and Russia.

"The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is an index that ranks countries "by their perceived levels of public sector[1] corruption, as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys."[2] The CPI generally defines corruption as an "abuse of entrusted power for private gain".[3] The index is published annually by the non-governmental organisation Transparency International since 1995.[4]

The 2023 CPI, published in January 2024, currently ranks 180 countries "on a scale from 100 (very clean) to 0 (highly corrupt)" based on the situation between 1 May 2022 and 30 April 2023."

The problem Ricky is every time you don't get your way you want to run out into the street screaming for rebellion. For most people abuse builds up until they can't take it anymore then they rebel. And most people don't consider a lot of things worthy of rebelling over like you do.

A boss telling you to do your job isn't a dictator.

the problem is we destroyed our left wing. thats why union rate is only 10%. pathetic.

im not sure rebellions do work like that. chris hedges used to theorize that, but he spoke with ralph nader and ralph knew something else about history where people just take abuse.
