Part time PCDers working as driver helpers

Can part time Package delivery drivers work as a driver's helper to get extra hours. Obviously it would depend on the driver and when helpers are needed. Anyone know if it's possible? It would also give the the Part time PCDer more experience and learn additional routes. Thanks.

We use part time cover drivers as helpers during peak until there is enough work to give them their own route to run.

Since the volume is not there to put them on the road more consistently.

No PT drivers in my building other then PT and Art 22.3 air drivers. And yes they are abused by loading them up with ground.
