Not sure where you guys work at but we are destroyed today… half of our building still out as I type this myself included on lunch break 13 hours in

Deranged lunatic
It's 6 hours of work and 2 hours of wasted time thanks to the center pushing start times way back. Karma will come back eventually on them for that. Even an extra 20 stops will blow that whole lid off.

Why would you take lunch at 907pm? You're part of the problem.
Sometimes I come in in the evening and drivers are sitting in the break room. I asked them what they’re doing. They say they’re taking their lunch break because they didn’t have “time” during the day lol
Well, hopefully the handsome neighbor isn’t having dinner with your wife!! SMH knuckleheads.

We were pretty buried today as well. Minus two planes of air so tomorrow should be just as fun.
It's like night and day for us this year compared to last. I was looking up my paycheck to see what I netted last week, so I checked last year this week just to compare. I got 46.5 total hours last year, including Saturday. This year I'm on target for at least 55. No, it's not 13 or 14 hour days, but much heavier than last year. I'm all for it.

All the Black Friday and Cyber Monday volume is starting to come in. We went from light Tuesday to blown out yesterday and I'm sure today will be the same. The company's solution is to push back start times rather than have the preload start earlier, god forbid.

Violation of the contract in our local. "Didn’t have time" in knucklehead translates to "I cut corners to get done earlier". Dispatch is not related to required meal times breaks.

Someone should file a grievance. Lol, watch these runner-gunners scramble for excuses.

We are our own worst enemies.

I agree we are our own worst enemy, but I’m not filing a grievance on another brother and sister. I do however tried to give them solid advice about the mistake they’re making. Hopefully they will figure out how this game is supposed to be played. I’m taking my lunch between the third and six hour regardless of dispatch.

Our building is smashed too. Good for business and we should bank the money while it's here because the scrooge comes out after X-Mas.

So if that part of the contract can be ignored, what else can go out the window?

In my local, the sups get a report every day. There was some big lawsuit years back about skipping lunch. Get into a accident and you may have sunk your own ship.

Lots of parts of the contract getting ignored. The job. Of Steward or another union brother or sister is not to get another Union brother and sister in trouble or disciplined. Running to management to tell on them would be doing that. Rather take them to the side and explain to them the reason we have that language in the contract and how they can use it to keep themselves safe and dispatch reasonable.

Management loves to use our members good work ethic against them. Many of them just don’t understand that between the third and sixth hour you pull the truck over and take lunch and let management figure out their disaster of dispatch.

Par for the course at this point but we've already gotten about 40 inches in the last 9 days.
Eff you Friday
