Pension changes?

I read that. It’s gonna affect anyone hired after January 2009. Also all future contracts. All the funds better get their acts together.
That's the only saving Grace for me is that I have a fair amount of pension credits pre 2009. They don't have any age penalties
But unfortunately everything after that date I get penalized

Where is the sweet spot? The people who retired before 2008 were the ones who really got screwed. Are they going to only penalize new retirees or going to make it retroactive? Most of my credits were pre 2009 but I do have a little after and never heard anything about any new penalties.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Probably the new ones will be screwed

That was part of the pension reform act.
I guess every plan is different but they had to come up with a plan to make the fund more viable.

Every fund is so different.
That's why I tell these young guys to build up your 401k

“Among the rank-and-file, there is also immense skepticism and distrust against O’Brien and the new administration. “The honeymoon is over,” as one delivery driver told the WSWS.”

One driver=immense? O’Brien hasn’t even been in office a year. I can’t take world socialist website too serious.😂

Bingo. So many put nothing in the 401k. They say what do I need a 401k for. We get a pension. Lolz. I’m gonna make much more in retirement than I do working. Roth+SS which I pray the US govt doesn’t screw us and eliminate it+pension.

I see no way the govt can eliminate SS. It will be total anarchy. People will go ballastic. So lemme get this straight, I put all that money in the fund yearly for my entire working career and your friend ‘n me?

The article said affecting only those "hired" after 2009. You should be fine.

The rehabilitation plan applies only to workers hired after January 1, 2009, effectively creating a two-tier benefit structure.
