For the pension, is there any benefit to waiting until the next contract is in place in 2018 before quitting? I am part time and have 9 years of service.

Yes, there are several PTers in my center that have 20+ years. They have good full time jobs to go along with UPS. Their "personal ambition" is strong enough to work 2 jobs each and every day.
I am at over $33k for the first 6 months of this year working PT. I too wonder it there will be any improvements in the PT pension for me to stay or just hang it up now. I am guessing no improvements and maybe a hit on FT pensions in the next contract.

I would be more concerned about still being a PTer when you retire.

A friend of mine has been a part timer in our HUB for over 20 years. He has a house and a car that are paid off and lives alone, never married. So it can't be that bad. His advantage is that if he wants to work 40 hours, he can. If he doesn't, he doesn't.
