For the pension, is there any benefit to waiting until the next contract is in place in 2018 before quitting? I am part time and have 9 years of service.
You get nothing!!!!!!!!!!For the pension, is there any benefit to waiting until the next contract is in place in 2018 before quitting? I am part time and have 9 years of service.
Part time, you should be good.Part of me wonders if the pension will be totally bust by the time I retire (20 years..)

Why is this?I would be more concerned about still being a PTer when you retire.

Yes, there are several PTers in my center that have 20+ years. They have good full time jobs to go along with UPS. Their "personal ambition" is strong enough to work 2 jobs each and every day.Am I wrong?
Are you positive UPS is their only work? There could be many reasons but I think the primary one would be lack of personal ambition.
I am at over $33k for the first 6 months of this year working PT. I too wonder it there will be any improvements in the PT pension for me to stay or just hang it up now. I am guessing no improvements and maybe a hit on FT pensions in the next contract.Yes, there are several PTers in my center that have 20+ years. They have good full time jobs to go along with UPS. You knew PT jr qualified FT package car driver last week. Still asking me for advice but I bet that will stop soon. You are a PT employee by title only.
