Possible driver death due to heat

I just reached one year of seniority. We've had Orion for a little over a year. As soon as I get Edd in the morning I switch to RDO and never look back. I beat their stupid time and miles everyday doing this so they don't touch me with their Orion BS. No I don't run a single step and I take my lunch. Not tooting my horn here just think it's funny that I don't go by Orion one bit and since I over perform their perfect project Orion they can't say :censored2:
Same here, I just run RDO every route. Either I haven't been talked to because the RDO is still AT LEAST 85% Orion trace, or I beat the miles that bad.
Or they just don't care!!

I work in this local (not in the same building) and they're claiming it was a cardiac stroke rather than heat stroke. The driver was a female in her 50's. There's been nothing reported in the local news media as of Friday.
Ok. The facts. She had a stroke at lunch. After her hour was over sup saw that truck was still sitting he called her phone several times then drove out to the location he tried to revive her but was to late. I will post obit if it will make u happy

Please do and the link if different from this:

So did she have the stroke while eating lunch in a 100+ degree package car like none of us (that I know of) would do or was it in an establishment where the supervisor somehow found her before someone else did?

Over 80 degrees, I spent lunch in a highly Air Conditioned restaurant and rank as much water as I could.

Under 80 (and over 50) and this looks like a good way to spend lunch:

Stroke is quite different from heat related issues. Stroke and heart attack of course are cardiovascular events caused by blockages. Very often, the first sign of a cardiovascular problem is sudden death.
Blood pressure spike is a variable that may be a catalyst.

We all feel for her family but the only PCM I could think of is to visit your regular health professional? Many times the first sign of stroke and heart disease is sudden death.

So, has anyone in this thread posted HOW someone properly hydrates?

Allow me to share what we were told in our PCM:

As a rule, you are suppose to drink 2/3rds your body weight in ounces; at the time of the PCM, I was 240lbs, so i should have been drinking 160 fl oz everyday. In addition, you should drink 4-6 oz of water for every 20 mins of exercise, which roughly equals one 16.7 oz bottle of bottled water.

When you drink certain liquids, you should drink additional water to compensate for the amount of water used to process those liquids. The worst was for a can of monster, which required an additional 64fl oz to process ON TOP OF your daily requirement (2/3rds your body weight in ounces) and what you should drink while exercising/doing strenous activities (bottle of water every hour).

This was all eye-opening to me, as I've drunken two gallons of water before and yet was still pissing Guiness draught; I began to think dark urine in heat was just normal, because SURELY I was hydrating. I wasn't even drinking what i was suppose to to function normally!

Drunken?

I bring 2 12 oz bottles of water to work each day. These are usually more than enough to get me through an average day. On hot days I will usually double that.

The problem with hydrating for older people is all of that water has to go somewhere and I find myself using the restroom a lot more than usual on hot days.

As I pointed out, I got this info in a PCM, a couple years ago. Management DOES care, but often they have so much on their plates they don't think to go in depth. Why don't we all ask our management team can we share this info with our centers to help prevent another occurence of what happened to our driver in NC?

It is still uncertain if her stroke was heat related.

As a rule of thumb for me is if I am sweating and peeing, I'm okay. When I stop either, drink more water.

Yeah. We had a driver die in a motorcycle accident. Just ran right into the back of semi full speed. They think he had a heart attack first. Could just as easily of happened at work but I don't know what good a nation wide pcm would of done.
