President Trump

Top 5 candidates (not necessarily in popularity order):

1) Joe Biden- Nearly an octogenarian. Comes off as creepy to many. Is a corporate whore (first fundraiser was with a Comcast executive). Comes off as genuine but doesn't articulate policy well.

2) Bernie Sanders- Nearly an octogenarian. Moderates won't vote for a socialist. Has dragged many candidates so far to the left for the Democratic primaries that they'll have a hard time tacking right for the general election. The demographic he appeals to the most doesn't tend to vote in large numbers.

3) Elizabeth Warren- Articulates policy proposals better than any other candidate. But she's dragged herself down with the Native American stuff (eternally "Pocahontas" in conservative circles) and might not be seen as trustworthy by moderates who also see her policies the same way they see Bernie's.

4) Kamala Harris- Hard lefties don't like her because she's been involved in law enforcement. And they don't like law enforcement. To everybody else she's just a crazy from California who will say (or not give a real answer to) anything. Not genuine. Not workable on a national level.

5) Mayor Pete- My favorite among the popular candidates. Smart, articulate, veteran. But also very openly and proudly gay married. I have absolutely no problem with it, but Republicans would do everything they could to make the public feel uncomfortable about him smooching his husband on the campaign stage. Memes, photoshops, nicknames, etc.
How do you see the Montana governor? He won in a state that went for Trump.

Trump is just trying to erase that HORRIBLE NAFTA deal that Slick Willie thought would be so good for America. I find myself checking what I buy to see if it is made in America. It's REALLY hard to do but hopefully these tariffs will start steering in the right direction. It's gonna take a while though. Like, years.

The ‘feds’?

The ‘feds’ are redistributing wealth?

Where do I get me some of this redistributed wealth?

Crazy white boys...
In the context feds applies to the federal government, it’s pretty simple. Even if someone left out feds/federal government all together in context I would immediately know who is redistributing wealth and subsidizing the wealthy in the guise of altruism.

That’s cute.

But, wrong.

The redistribution is from bottom to top, from poor to wealthy.

The redistribution is from family farms to Agribusiness.

The redistribution is from local banks to conglomerates.

The redistribution is from...

It’s not clear to me what you’re crying about, follow your logic and it just brings us right back to where we are...where we are is the result of what you think should happen.

It’s not about taxes (did you have a nutty Uncle or something?)

We don’t have a supply problem, we have a distribution problem, and by that I mean we distribute the collective wealth to the wealthy and the corporations.

I love the narrative reframe that Republicons pull off...’they’re trying to take your money!!?’

While they’re fleecing your couch for loose change and taxing the friend out of you.

Did you think that tax-cut helped you?

Lmao

I think you'll find a fair share of moderate democrats are also uncomfortable with mayor pete being gay.

there are a lot of people on both sides that think we should not discriminate to some degree but don't think they should give the presidency to a gay person.

I agree though that mayor pete is a smart guy and may do well when its all said and done.

Trump won by being different from the other 18 candidates. other then biden the rest have not learned a thing.

Don’t know enough about him. Imagine he’s probably a moderate who might have a hard time in today’s Democratic primaries.

I think the dems have the right idea this time . It appears every person who is a democrat will be running for president. if we can get everyone in the country to run and then make everyone president then absolutely nothing will get done and no harm can come to this country .

Why should we not give the presidency to a gay man?

I wouldn’t give a :censored2: if the president was an Asian trans midget coke head that didn’t speak English as long as they were proposing no income tax, slashing the executive, reforming omnibus spending bills, destroying the welfare state, promoting individuality and setting a national tone of free markets and limited government.

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't. @Box Ox made the point that there are republicans that are not ready to elect a gay man. I made the point that I think there are also dems that feel the same way. it takes time to crush social norms. For me I wish we would stay away from identity politics .

I don’t like Pete. I don’t care at all that he is gay, though looking at his husband I’d say I got a good chance at First Lady if I get a secretary gig.
