We just spent 2 years howling at the moon that Trump was a Russian colluder. Are we ready to be wrong again if an impeachment trial comes up empty? I get that a failed impeachment would still have a short-term laxative effect for the hard lefties. But would it be worthwhile?
Who said they should impeach him? I wouldn’t. I’d begin an impeachment inquiry, simply the investigation. Why not? Doesn’t have to end with impeachment.
Put it this way, how would an impeachment inquiry be any different than what’s going on now? My guess is it would have a fancy name and keep the base juiced.
Besides, no matter how much @newfie wants it to, it’s not going away.

Yeah, but it’s not like it wouldn’t be taken the whole way no matter what. Democrats had better be ready to state for the TV cameras exactly what they’re impeaching Trump for even if they don’t find anything during the inquiry. Because there’s no way it stops there in any case.
