Question about working on Holidays.

If you signed up to work on an optional work day to get Holiday pay but you cant make it to work on that day does it count as a call in since it was an optional sort to begin with?

Likely, yes. You put yourself on the schedule. You could also ask around to see if someone will take your spot, then they probably would just switch you two.
