Religious Belief vs Civic Duty

Do employees have the right to refuse to perform parts of their jobs due to their religious beliefs?

The lady is a religious nut case. She herself has been married 4 times (I can see why) and was fooled into marrying a transgender couple already. If its legal she has no right to go against the system and should look for another job. It sounds like between her and her mother they have held that Clerk job for 50 years so I'm sure she thinks she is God of the Courthouse.

She could be recalled. Would assume she represents a conservative county and thus would not be an option.
Heavy fines and/or jail time might get her to uphold the oath she took when entering office.
Under KY law would have to hold a special legislative session to remove her from office. Governor has already said he is not going to spend the money for that

5 of the 6 deputy clerks have agreed to issue marriage license. Only one who didn't is her son.
