Good tune but not really a true "ballad" to me.

I Guess it depends on the listeners definition of ballad. A ballad to me is a heartfelt song of love and emotion that is slow and low rather than poppy and gleeful and that is the standard definition. The term has taken on a new meaning in popular music, thuogh.

I do like the song but it never caused me to climb into the backseat of the 1974 'Cuda (David), 1972 Nova (Kevin) or 1972 Cutlass (Cory) was driving.

That's because they didn't have a '48 New Yorker Club Coupe. I also had a 71 Duster 340 as my daily driver. I burned up clutches, tires, broke many motor mounts and cherries - but that's a different story!
