You must have missed it. Congress passed new sanctions against Russians for their involvement in election meddling. Trump has chosen to not impose those sanctions. He also blabbers on and on about how Russian meddling didn't happen. His intelligence chiefs just testified that Trump has not instructed them to do anything to counter Russian information warfare.
Yeah this is one of the few places trump actually loses. Not sure of the details of “the list” but I love me some sanctions of dictatorships and commies.

I don't know.
I think he is a realist and understands that countries do this with one another.
Lord knows, the US has done this to dozens and dozens of countries.

Yah, I guess.

He does seem to have a particular blind spot for Putin.

I mean, Putin told him twice that Russia didn't interfere, and Trump was good with that, so, mystery solved!

As far as I can tell, he hasn't done crap about addressing Russian intrusions into our electoral process.

What do you think he's done?

What the hell is wrong with you?
I think this is definitely jumping to conclusions ... especially after Rosenstein said Russia's intrusions DID NOT affect the 2016 election.

The real intent of Russia's efforts was to sow discontent in America about the integrity of the electoral process.

You and many others in here and elsewhere in American were willing participants in just such discourse.
Putin thanks you and your cohorts. :wink2:

I know you're not that naive.

Our Intelligence agencies have been very clear in their statements.

They can't point to any literal vote changing, i.e. hacking of voting machines, but they can point to Russian operatives acting as Americans who hired Americans to, like you said, sow discourse.

I would argue that if Russia successfully inserted themselves into our national discourse and muddied the waters, like you said, the outcome of that meddling is essentially unknowable.

To say that because no voting machines were hacked means that our election wasn't hacked is nonsense.

Who knows what tipped the scales of this razor-thin margin election.

Honestly, this is for some Poly-Sci grad student to parse, twenty years from now.
